TOP GUN LACROSSE CELEBRATES ITS 25TH CAMP SEASON

Clam Alumni Tracking for 4/26 - 5/2

Endings and beginings for Clam Alumni

This week saw the end of some Clam Alumni season while others have begun thier second season and the playoffs.

For those senior Clam Alumni that have wrapped up thier collegiate lacrosse careers, we here at Top Gun World Headquarters want to thank and congratulate you all.  It has been fun and exciting following you throughout your careers.

Now on to the Top 10:

#1 ARMY
Tyler Seymour (Senior, Nashua HS, attack)
Performance Comments:
Beating Navy was so much fun for Army earlier on in the season, the Tyler and the Black Knights decided to do it again, this time for the Patriot League title and an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.  The run to the top of the Patriot League mountain started with a semi-final win against Bucknell 9-7 in which Tyler tallied 3 goals.  Then on Sunday, Army vs. Navy, Part 2.  This time, Army didn't want any last minute worries and posted an 11-9 win with Tyler notching a goal in the contest.

#2 TUFTS
Jamie Atkins (Senior, Middlesex, midfield)
Performance Comments:
In the regular season finale, Tufts took down Bowdoin in overtime 14-13 on Friday to lock up the second seat in the NESCAC tournament.  Jamie netted a goal and dished out one goal in the contest.  And only with one day's rest, the Jumbo's welcomed Williams on Suday for a quarter-final match up which Tufts won 13-9.  Jamie notched 3 goals in the game.

#3 ENDICOTT
Jack Curtis (Junior, Chelmsford, attack)
Performance Comments:
Saturday was a quarter-final match-up between Endicott and the University of New England in the Commonwealth Coast tournament, which Endicott had earned a #1 seed in.  Behind Jack's 2 goal, 4 assist day, Endicott took the game 16-4.

#4 GEORGETOWN
Chris Nixon (Senior, Duxbury HS, defense)
Performance Comments:
Chris continues to help the Georgetown cause as they make a push towards the NCAA tournament.  Saturday saw Georgetown take on Rutgers and take the game 14-9 with Chris scooping 3 ground balls and causing 4 turnovers in the contest.  His efforts earned him Big East Defensive Player of the Week honors.

#5
HARTFORD
Tim Fallon (Junior, Lawrence Academy, midfield)
Performance Comments:
This was the only televised game I saw with one of our Clam Alumni playing and most of the positive comments from the announcers about Hartford were all about Tim's play (both this game's and last week's).  While Tim didn't have the same offensive numbers (he only tallied 1 assist in Saturday's contest against UMBC), he was again dominant at the face-off "X" (23 out of 29) and on ground balls (14).  And Hartford scored the win 14-12 to close thier season.

#6 SPRINGFIELD
Mark Eaton (Junior, The Rivers School, midfield)
Performance Comments:
When your team fall's behind 4-0 in the first quarter, the best way to get back into the game is at the face-off "X".  In Springfield's game against Babson on Saturday, that's exactly what happened.  Behind a 1 goal, 11 ground ball, 14 out of 20 on face-offs day for Mark, Springfield rallied to beat Babson 10-7 and clinch the Pilgram League regular season title.

#7 HOBART
Tim Bigelow (Junior, Northfield Mount Hermon/The Rivers School, attack)
Performance Comments:
Tim dished out 5 assists in Hobart's 17-6 drumming of Air Force on Saturday to grab Hobart's first win of the season in the ECAC.

#8  HAMILTON
Max Vaikus (Sophomore, Hingham HS, goalie)
Performance Comments:
Max made a strong case this week on why he should have the starting job next season when the current senior goalie graduates.  Tuesday gave Max a chance to ease into things with 6 saves (85.7% save percentage) against Wells as Hamilton took the game 21-7.  Saturday's game was a little tougher, but Max stood tall making 12 saves (57.1% save percentage).  Unfortunately, Hamilton dropped the game to St. Lawrence 4-9.

#9 KEENE STATE
Alec Corliss (Junior, Lincoln-Sudbury HS, goalie)
Performance Comments:
As I mentioned last week, most times when a goalie tallies double digit saves, that means good things for thier team.  This was the case for Alec and the Owls of Keene State.  Tuesday saw Alec make 12 saves (75% save percentage) in a 15-7 win against Plymouth State.  Saturday against Southern Maine, Alec posted 13 saves (65% save percentage) as Keene State took the game 21-7 to remain unbeaten in Little East Conference play at 7-0.

#10
WHEATON
Chris Landers (Junior, Proctor Academy, attack)
Performance Comments:
Wheaton came out on both ends of 14-9 games this week.  Monday, Wheaton lost to Trinity 9-14 and Chris went for a quiet 2 goals.  On Wednesday, Wheaton was on the other side, as they got the win 14-9 over Mass Maritime behind Chris' 6 goal, 1 assist performance.  Chris ends the regular season leading Wheaton in total points (49), tied for most goals (29), and second in assists (20).
