TOP GUN LACROSSE CELEBRATES ITS 25TH CAMP SEASON

ANDERSON AND SWEET JOIN CLAM STAFF

Scott Anderson and Chris Sweet join the Clams Top Gun Fighting Clams Director, Justin Walker, is pleased to announce the addition of Scott Anderson and Chris Sweet to his Fighting Clams staff.

Scott Anderson, Harvard Head Lacrosse Coach from 1988-2007, will be a special recruiting consultant with a focus on Ivy League and NESCAC candidates. Coach Anderson has an intimate behind-the-scene knowledge of the daunting admissions standards at these schools. As such, he is uniquely qualified to present qualified Clam candidates directly to these coaches, many of whom were his former colleagues.

During his career at Harvard, Coach Anderson coached forty-one NCAA All Americans. He guided the Crimson to five NCAA tournaments, one IVY League Championship and was named NEILA Coach of the Year four times. An All Ivy player at Dartmouth, he was the Dartmouth Green captain in 1973.

Chris Sweet, Head Coach at perennial powerhouse Duxbury for the past twelve years, will join the Fighting Clams Coaching Staff. While at Duxbury, Coach Sweet has coached twenty high school All Americans, including Tewaaraton finalist and current Boston Cannon and U.S. Team Member Max Quinzani.

Since 2002, Coach Sweet's record run at Duxbury - a Division II school by size - includes nine Division I State Championship games, and State Titles in seven of them. (In the other two finals, Coach Sweet's Duxbury team lost by just one goal, once in overtime). In his twelve years with the Dragons, Coach Sweet has never missed a playoff appearance.

Christ Sweet played his high school lacrosse at Ithaca High, where he was an All American attackman. In college he was an All America twice at Farmingdale Junior College, and twice for the Ithaca College Bombers.

On these staff additions, Coach Walker commented, "In seeking to keep the Fighting Clam program as the state's preeminent club lacrosse program for off-season exposure I gave careful consideration as to who might help us achieve this goal. Two names that immediately came to mind are Coach Sweet and Coach Anderson. And now with both on board, the Clams are second to none in the coaching we'll be able to offer our players, as well as the exposure we'll be able to facilitate. Right now, I feel we have all the pieces in place for an outstanding 2010/2011 campaign!".
