TOP GUN LACROSSE CELEBRATES ITS 25TH CAMP SEASON

CLAM ALUMNI FROM WEEK OF 3/14 - 3/20

And the beat goes on...

Just when you think you're starting to get an idea of how the college season(s) are going to shape up, things get turned on their head.  #7 Duke dominating #8 UNC...Towson toppling #5 Stonybrook... unranked Penn State shuts down #10 UMass...#18 UPenn pins #11 Princeton...well, you get the picture.

Well, whatever happens in the world of college lacrosse, the one constant is the Clam Alumni.  So, here we go.

#1.  Billy McNamara
Wheaton
Attack
The Rivers School
Comments: Billy had a monster week despite Wheaton coming out of the week 1-1.  On Wednesday, Billy put up 8 points (4 goals, 4 assist) against Manhattanville.  Unfortunately it wasn't enough as Wheaton dropped the game 13-14 in overtime.  Saturday, Billy made sure he had that extra point on the day as he posted 7 goals and 2 assists.  Wheaton didn't really need it as they rolled over Husson 20-8.

#2. Jordan Greenfield
Fairfield
Attack
The Rivers School
Comments: Despite being held scoreless against Colgate on Saturday, earlier in the week Jordan tallied a goal and an assist in a 9-6 win over Vermont.  The Stags stand atop the ECAC at 2-0.  Jordan leads all freshman on the team with 7 points (4G, 3A).

#3. Chris Langton
#12 Cornell
Midfield
St. John's Prep/Northfield Mount Hermon
Comments: Chris added a goal in Saturday's Ivy League match against #19 Yale with the Big Red taking the contest 10-8.  The win puts Cornell at 1-0 in what should be a very competitive Ivy League, where every win is going to matter.

#T4.  Max Alderman
Trinity
Midfield
Lincoln/Sudbury HS

Steve Manning
  Trinity
Midfield
The Rivers School
Comments: Once again, Steve and Max find themselves link not only because they both are at Trinity, but because of their performances this week.  On Wednesday, in a 12-4 win over Western Connecticut, Max went for a goal and an assist while Steve netted 2 goals.  On Saturday, both Max and Steve had a goal and an assist as Trinity topped Bowdoin 9-7 to stay tied with Tufts and Wesleyan at 2-0 in the NESCAC.

#6.  Grant Covington
Wesleyan
Goalie
Buckingham, Browne, & Nichols
Comments: As usual, the NESCAC conference is proving itself to have great parity again.  Saturday saw Wesleyan win an overtime thriller against #5 Middlebury 9-8.  Grant had 15 saves (65.2% save percentage) in the game.  Wesleyan is tied with Tufts and Trinity at 2-0 at the top of the NESCAC standings.

#7.  John Jennings
Colby
Attack
St. John's Prep
Comments: Consistency is the name of the game in college lacrosse and John is achieving that.  On Thursday, John put up 4 goals and added an assist as Colby beat Plymouth State 13-3.  Saturday was a step up in competition with #1 Tufts, and John put up 3 goals and 1 assist.  Unfortunately, Colby lost that one 9-14.

#8.  Tim Fallon
Hartford
FOGO/Midfield
Lawrence Academy
Comments: Tim struggled a bit on Wednesday against Bucknell at the face-off X though made up for it by contributing an assist, but Hartford still fell 6-7.  On Saturday, Tim returned to his dominance on face-offs winning 15 out of 20 as Hartford beat Quinnipiac 10-9 in overtime.

#9.  Bobby Schnibbe
Quinnipiac
Defense
Duxbury HS
Comments: Despite assisting on a goal on top of contributing to the defensive effort, Bobby and the Bobcats of Quinnipiac fell to Hartford 9-10 in overtime.

#10.  Tommy Harrison
#14 Denison
Defense
The Rivers School/Vermont Academy
Comments: Tommy has helped rejuvenate Denison as they have started the season 4-1 (their lone loss coming to #7 Haverford).  Wednesday, Tommy helped with the offense by dishing out an assist in a 16-4 drubbing of Saint Mary's of Maryland.
