11-5 overall record with a championship to boot.

'13/'14 A
Day 1 Record: 2-2
Day 2 Record: 4-0 (CHAMPIONS)

Overview: The Saturday into Sunday transition for this version of the '13/'14 A squad showed exactly the transition you hope to see in a club team. Coming out of the gate with two straight losses, the team then reeled off six straight wins, and in so doing won a Championship on Sunday. The squad came together and improved as they went, certainly boding well for their chances vs. the sure-to-be ramped up competition down at Hotbeds in Delaware in a few short days.

Saturday saw midfielder Jack Russ (Phillips Exeter) and Sean Pensavalle (Middlesex) lead the way in points scored. The defense was held down very capably by Reid Knapp (Weston HS), Jake Levy (St. Sebastians) and Tyler Rostad (Pingree), among others. Between the pipes, Tyler Boardo (Catholic Memorial/Tabor) and Matt D'Amore (Duxbury HS) were both very good.

Sunday saw some of the same, and certainly some dramatic improvement on the part of others. Alessandro Secino (Worcester Academy) went from a modest offensive performance on day 1 to a downright dominant one on day 2, notching 9 points to lead the squad to their Championship. Also worthy of note were the offensive performances on Ethan Puritz and Alec Cover, both attackmen from the Rivers School who were playing in their first tournaments with the Clams this summer. Once again, the defense/goalies, and the midfield, led by Andrew Eriksen (Andover HS) and Liam Kinnealey (St. Johns Prep), were quite strong.

So it was the progression that was the prevailing theme with this '13/'14 A group. A sluggish start, a strong response during the second part of day one, then a great team effort on Sunday, day two. Coming out of this Yale event, I now have renewed confidence that the '13/'14 A squads will be up to the challenge down in Delaware. But rest assured, the competitive level will be ramped up accordingly. So it is that the Hotbeds is the perfect way to end this summer, and to see how far we have truly come!

2015 AA
Day 1 Record: 3-1
Day 2 Record: 2-2

Overview:
The 2015AA Clams compiled a 3-1 record on the first day of Yale, seeing competition from Walpole, New York, Boston and Washington State. The Clam offense was led by Kerry Lyne (Wellesley HS) with 12 points on 4 goals and 8 helpers and Nick Albano (Beverly HS) who contributed 4 goals and 6 assists.
In the first game of the day, the '15 Clams squared off with Amity. After taking a 2-1 lead into the half, the Clam offense methodically put 3 more away to walk away with a 5-2 victory. Duncan Lechner (St. Paul's School) stopped 5 of the 7 shots he saw and Skylar Mickunas (St. John's Prep)  was instrumental at LSM, grabbing 3 GB's in the middle of the field. Kerry Lyne (Wellesley HS) would offer up 2 assists, a theme that we would see throughout the rest of the day. Cam Jung (Masconomet HS), Nick Albano (Beverly HS), Alex Chin (Shrewsbury HS), Jake Foster (Westboro HS) and Angus O'Rourke (St. Sebastian's) rounded out the scoring with 1 goal apiece.

In game 2, Mercer Island showed why they have had so much success winning WA State Championships. A very organized and patient offense would have given many teams fits, but Henry Donnellan led a composed defense that limited MI to 5 goals. Angus O'Rourke (St. Sebastian's) led the Clam scoring with 2 goals and 2 gb's. Ryan McCaffery (Natick HS) offered up a goal and an assist in the 5-4 defeat.

The Blues U17, another MA club team was the game 3 opponent and the Clams rolled to a 9-3 victory thanks to great play from the attack. Nick Albano (Beverly HS) led all scorers with 5 points on 1g and 4a from the right side. Kerry Lyne took care of the left side with 3 goals. Tim Dick (Tyngsboro HS/Rivers), Angus O'Rourke (St. Sebastian's) and Skyler Mickunas (St. John's Prep) combined for 11 gb's in the contest. O'Rourke also played a big role at the faceoff X, going 7 for 11.

In the last contest of the day, the Clam offense was unleashed, scoring 11 goals while only conceding 1. Kerry Lyne (Wellesley HS) again led the scoring with 7 points on 6 assists and a goal. Tim Dick (Tynsboro HS/Rivers) and Skyler Mickunas (St. John's Prep) seemed to be right on top of any loose ball and picked up a combined 9 gb's. Faceoffs are always a critical part, and in this game Angus O'Rourke went 8 for 9, and threw in a goal for good measure.

The 2015AA Clams got off to a slow start on Sunday but turned it around in the afternoon to finish the day at 2-2.
In game 1, Danny Grant (Xaverian Brothers HS) assisted Alex Chin (Shrewsbury HS) for the Clams lone goal in a 4-1 defeat against a solid Premier Lax team. Duncan Lechner (St. Paul's) turned away 6 of 10 shots that he faced, while Timmy Dick (Tyngsboro HS/Rivers) and Caleb Mahoney (Holliston HS) grabbed 3 and 2 GB's, respectively.

Game 2 again proved to be a low scoring affair as the Clams '15AA dropped a 4-3 contest to the HV Spartans. Jake Foster (Westboro HS), Angus O'Rourke (St. Sebastian's) and Matt O'Connor (Nobles) each tallied a goal and Cam Jung (Masconomet HS) added an assist. Henry Donnellan saved 4 of 8 shots. O'Rourke also was pivotal at the faceoff X going 6 for 8 and picking up 3 GB's in the process. The 2015AA Clams would turn a corner after this game and roll through the next two.

In their third contest of the day, the '15 Clams unleashed the offense en route to a 7-3 victory over Bobcats Lax. Kerry Lyne (Wellesley HS) led all scores with 2 goals and a helper. Jake Foster (Westboro HS) and Cam Jung (Masconomet HS) both added 2 goals while Will Christiansen (Weston HS) chimed in with 1 goal. We knew the offense was coming together becuase the ball movement was considerably better in this third game. Along with Lyne's 2 assits, Danny Grant (Xaverian Brothers HS) added 2 while Angus O'Rourke (St. Sebastian's) and Alex Chin (Shrewsbury HS) both added 1. Duncan Lechner (St. Paul's) stod tall in the cage, stopping 4 of the 7 shots he faced.

In the last game of the Yale weeked, the 2015's finished strong with a 5-4 win over Team Fierce Lax. Andrew Ward (Thayer Academy) paced the offense with 2 goals and 1 assist while Cam Jung (Masconomet HS) served as playmaker in the last contest, dishing out 3 assists. Henry Donnellan led the defense from between the pipes and stopped 4 of 8 shots. Angus O'Rourke again had a strong showing at the X, procuring 6 of 11 draws - many down the stretch as the Clams held off a fiesty combeack bid. Danny Grant (Xaverian Brothers HS) and Jake Foster (Westboro HS) rounded out the scoring with 2 and 1 goal, respectively.
