TOP GUN LACROSSE CELEBRATES ITS 25TH CAMP SEASON

Top Clam Alumni: 4/7 - 14

A mix of offensive and defensive Clams make the list this week.

1. MURPH VANDERVELDE (Harvard / Sophomore / Midfield)
4/9: 1G vs. Quinnipiac, W 18-8
4/13: 3G vs. UPenn, W 8-7 O.T. (Game-winner)
Comments: It was a complete team effort on Tuesday in the Crimson's win versus the Quinnipiac Bobcats.  Saturday was Murph's day with the hat-trick including the game-winner in overtime.  Murph has crept up the Harvard depth chart this season, slowly at first, then much faster of late. In fact, his 13 goals on the season so far have all been scored in the last 6 games. If you watch the highlights below, please listen for when they call Murph the "Sophomore Sensation".

2.  JORDAN GREENFIELD (Fairfield / Junior / Attack)
4/13: 4G vs. Air Force, W 9-8
Comments:  Jordan's four goals helped secure the win for the Stags and keeps them right in the mix of the ECAC playoff hunt.  Jordan leads the Stags in goals (27) and points (34).

3. LUKE DUPREY (Duke / Junior / LSM)
4/12: 8 GB, 1 caused turnover vs. Virginia, W 19-16
Comments:  This game should be in contention for the best game of the year, with both teams having runs of great offensive and defensive play.  Luke was a constant presense in Duke's defensive stands and has been all year. This has resulted in Luke leading the Blue Devils in caused turnovers (30), and being second on the team in ground balls (44).

4. LUCAS PARATORE (Endicott / Junior / LSM)
4/9: 4GB, 5 caused turnovers vs. Tufts, W 12-10
4/13: 6GB, 2 caused turnovers vs. Roger Williams, W 15-9
Comments: A big week for the Gulls as they took down #6 Tufts on Tuesday and then handled Roger Williams on Saturday.  Lucas was a big part of the and has been all season leading the Gulls in caused turnovers (19) and is second in groundballs (41).

5. TYLER MCKELVIE (Keene St. / Freshman / attack)
4/9: 2G, 1A vs. Bowdoin, W 6-5
4/12: 5G, 1A vs. Salem State, W 16-13
Comments: Tyler has played like an upper-classman this season, ranking at number two on the team in points (30), tying for the team lead in goals (19) and second in assists (11).

6.  BILLY MCNAMARA (Wheaton / Senior / Attack)
4/11: 6G, 4A vs. Lasell, W 15-4
4/12: 1G, 1A vs. Wentworth Tech, L 7-9
Comments: An impressive week of production for Billy tinged with a little disappointment after dropping the second game of a back-to-back week.  Billy is an impressively balanced 18 goals and 18 assists on the season, which ties him for the team lead in points with 36.

7. BRENDAN WILBUR (Quinnipiac / Senior / Attack)
4/9: 3 goals vs. Harvard, L 8-18
4/13: 2G, 2A vs. Sacred Heart, W 13-12
Comments: A good bounce back game after Tuesday's loss to Harvard by Brendan gave the Bobcats a much needed win the Northeast Conference to stay alive for post-season play.

8.  MAKAR "MICKEY" ZAVERUCHA (Trinity / Junior / Goalie)
4/13: 20 saves, 58.8% save percentage vs. Middlebury, L 12-14
Comments:  I've said it before, if you post 20 saves in a game, you deserve to be on this list.  Mickey's 20 save performance unfortunately wasn't enough to get the Bantams past NESCAC rival Middlebury, but it certainly got 'em close.

9. MATT CALLAHAN (Tufts / Senior / Defense)
4/9: 1A, 3GB, 2 caused turnover vs. Endicott, L 10-12
Comments: While Matt had a great individual effort, the Jumbos fell to Endicott on Tuesday despite Matt getting involved at both ends of the field adding an assist to the offensive effort.

10.  JACK WALKER (Harvard / Senior / Midfield)
4/9: 2G, 1A vs. Quinnipiac, W 18-8
4/13: 1G vs. UPenn, W 8-7, O.T.
Comments: Jack contributed to a great week for the Crimson as they climbed into the top four in the Ivy league as the post-season creeps every closer.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

PETE LATULIPPE (Castleton State / Fr. / Goalie)
4/9: 15 saves, 55.6% save percentage vs. New England College, W 16-12
4/14: 10 saves, 76.9% save percentage vs. Maine Maritine, W 13-3
