     Title: 'Necks Yale Tourney Report

'Necks undeterred by weather at Yale; make statement in the mud

LITTLENECKS AT YALE - November 14

The official record is a wadded clump of papers on my clipboard.  If you were there, you know why.  If you weren't, don't ask.  But here's how the day went for the Fall Necks: a good day on the scoreboard, a great day in terms of character building.

WHITE TEAM - O'BRIEN

Game 1 vs. Mass Elite ~ W, 8-2

Game 2 vs. Junior Gators, (CT) ~ W, No Scoresheet

Game 3 vs. Medfield ~ W, 8-2

Game 4 vs. EMASS 8th AA ~ L, No Scoresheet

 ORANGE TEAM – LENFEST

Game 1 vs. EMASS 8th A ~ W, 5-4

Game 2 vs. CT Lynx ~ W, 15-0

Game 3 vs. Hudson Valley Spartans ~ W, 6-0

Game 4 vs. Primetime (NY) ~ L, No Scoresheet

After a tough outing against bigger, stronger and older competition at the CT Beach Blast Classic two weeks earlier, the Necks proved what they can do on a more level playing field.  And they showed how they handle extreme conditions.  To borrow from horseracing, the Necks are “mudders”.

Hats off to all parents and players for hanging in there.  Your coaches and I are very proud of you.  See most of you very soon, when we crank it up again.
