This week we found it difficult to rank our Clam Alumni performances because of how many performed well in the same games. So this week we're focused on the groups of Clam Alumni that stood out.
CLAM ALUMNI AT HARVARD
As was noted in an earlier article, all four Clams at Harvard got into the scoring act this week. Tuesday it was just Eric Slingerland (middie, 1 goal, 1 assist; Phillips Exeter) and Mark Scalise (middie, 1 assist; St. John's Prep) that got onto the score sheet, but with the 16-15 win over Georgetown, I don't think any of the Crimson really cared who got in.
Friday was the real group act, where Jack Walker (attack; Phillips Andover) lead the way (for the Clam Alumni) with a goal and an assist while Garrett Campbell (attack, St. John's Prep), Eric Slingerland, and Mark Scalise all tallied a goal in the 21-10 drubbing of Bellarmine.
CLAMS ALUMNI AT #14 CORNELL
Continuing with the Ivy League theme, both Chris Langton (middie, St. John's Prep/North Field Mt. Hermon) and Scott Austin (attack, Duxbury HS) notched a goal apiece as the Big Red downed Canisius 14-7 on Wednesday.
IRISH CLAMS HELPING IN A 10-9 WIN
Saturday saw #3 Notre Dame Clam Alumni Quinn Cully (middie, Duxbury HS) and Edison Parzanese (attack, Martha's Vineyard HS/Holy Cross) both dished out a helper each, as the Irish were able to hold off the #17 Pioneers of Denver for the 10-9 win
OTHER NOTEABLE TANDEMS
From the ever competative NESCAC conference in D-3, there were two Clam Alumn tandems that helped their teams to wins this past week. First, from Colby, was goalie Peter Reiley (goalie, Deerfield Academy) who made 7 saves (58.3% save percentage) while at the other end John Jennings (attack, St. John's Prep) netting 2 goals, including the over-time game-winner, to get the 6-5 win against Williams.
And from the up-set department, Trinity downed #10 Connecticut College 14-9 with help from Max Alderman (1 goal, 1 assist; middie, Lincoln/Sudbury HS) and Steve Manning (1 assist; middie, The Rivers School).
