"How do I become a Clam"
We are now getting several calls a day asking this question. While there is some confusion on how this happens, it really is pretty simple when taken step by step. Below is how one becomes a Top Gun Fighting Clam.
1. Sign up for the league: In order to be considered for the Top Gun Fighting Clams, one must first register for the league. As has been the case since the team's inception, Clam membership is open only to players in our Super League. So your first step should always be to sign up.

2. Register for the tryout: Register for an upcoming Clam Camp Tryout. Remember, you must be signed up for the league before you can register for the tryout.
3. Earn your tournament invitations: We have made our selections regarding the tournaments slate. While not everyone selected for Clam Camp will be asked onto a tournament teams or teams, many will.
While a core group of returning summer Clams are already registered, there will be a number of spots that will remain open for the best new Fall '09 & Winter '10 Clams right up until the end of the second session of Clam Camp in mid February. These invitations will be extended on a weekly basis to the new Clams whose performance sets them apart at Clam Camp. This will start as early as the days immediately following the tryout, and will continue throughout the course of Clam Camp. In other words, Clam Camp sessions serve not only as practices for our upcoming events, but also as an ongoing tryout for those players looking to join the teams for some or all of its fall events.
The Clams continue to be the most successful College Placement Service in the area. While our singular goal is to achieve success on the playing field, our greater goal is to help our athletes use lacrosse to gain acceptance into the best schools in the country. Year after year, we have more success in this area than any other team. We think this is because as part of our program, what happens on the field is only the start of what Clam membership is all about.
So far coming out of summer '09, the following players have already committed to strong D1 lacrosse programs at outstanding schools:
